EconomicsAmerica School Grants

The ICEE offers these competitive, two-year grants to schools who are committed to strengthening the economics component of their curriculum. The grant program focuses on teacher training, the purchase of standards-based curriculum materials, and the evaluation of instruction. The EA School Grant Program is very manageable. It strengthens existing part of the social studies curriclum with a reasonabale time commitment.

In year one, a team of teachers from different grade levels or subject areas receives training in economics, articulates a curriculum for their school, and receives curriculum materials to teach that curriculum. In year two, another team of teachers repeats the process, creating a critical mass of teachers committed to improving economic education in the school.

Schools must commit to at least one day of release time for training purposes. ICEE provides all the training and the curriculum materials. Grant teachers also receive first consideration for tuition scholarships to ICEE summer graduate credit workshops and other regional/statewide training events. For more information contact your local Center for Economic Education or the ICEE office.
