Energy, Economics, and the Environment (EEE)

About The Energy, Economics, and the Environment (EEE) Curriculum

ICEE, through the support of Indiana Michigan Power, offers workshops each summer on the important Energy, Economics, and the Environment (EEE) curriculum, originally developed by the Indiana Department of Education.  This newly revised curriculum offers basic information on key topics such as water and forest resources, renewable and non renewable energy sources, solid waste, and global warming.  The curriculum at each level revolves around age-appropriate case studies, which help students apply sound economic reasoning to important energy and environmental issues.

High School EEE Curriculum

Topics covered are water, forest, and renewable energy resources, and global warming.  The high school EEE curriculum is available from the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE).  The EEE curriculum is distributed free to Indiana teachers in workshops or training programs. 

Middle School EEE Curriculum

There is no revised middle school EEE curriculum, however, the four case studies from the original, out of print curriculum have been revised and are available below.

• The Case of the Burning Leaves
• The Case of the New Power Plant
• The Case of the Waylaid Water

Elementary EEE Curriculum

Topics covered are basic economics concepts, trees and forests, water resources, and energy resources.  The elementary EEE curriculum is available from the National Council for Economic Education (NCEE).  The curriculum is distributed free to Indiana teachers in workshops or training programs.
